Knit Coasters
Spontaneous Knitting, Photoshoot, And Video Event
It’s been over a year maybe closer to two years since I knit anything. I had a little foray into sewing earlier this year but my knitting took a backseat until yesterday. I just had this feeling that I wanted to knit so I picked out my current favorite yarn, a vibrant multicolor, found my needles and started to knit without knowing what I was knitting.
As I continued to knit I thought, “Oh, I can knit another coaster for my glass or mug,” but then I realized that it was becoming more of a rectangle than a square. I already have a scarf from this yarn so I thought about it as I continued to knit and then I had an idea. I would knit a rectangle, long enough to fit both my coffee mug and glass. Done!
I had my original square coaster that I had knit awhile ago and the longer one that I just finished in front of me and I noticed that the colors looked good against the autumn foliage so I brought them outside for an impromptu “photoshoot”. Then I brought the photoshoot inside and set the knit coasters up with two glasses and a coffee mug. It was all very spontaneous and fun. So much so, that I made this video featuring my new creations and a new song that I wrote and recorded to go along with it. That’s me singing and I used GarageBand recording software to create the music.
